Getting tired again …

Category: homeash @ 9:53 pm

Back here once more.  First day working in the East of the County with the new team, under the watchful wing of Auntie Sheila.  Colne, Haslingden, then back.  105 miles on day 1. Gah!

Had a real pain of a backup device to fix too, which I managed not to do after 3 hours, so ended up fighting with rush hour traffic and nearly got wiped out twice.  Going to have to get my head around finishing earlier and leaving from the office I think.  Very different way of working required.

Most evenings and bits of time free are spent over at the new house when I get chance.  This is the Gran’s old place, which is being gutted.  Kitchen is mostly in, me and dad been to pick up £230 worth of tiles tonight before I had a group climbing, sparking and plastering nearly done but not ‘quite’.  Was hoping to get down there tonight to move furniture upstairs so that we can start decorating Chris’ room in earnest but I’m knackered.  No chance tomorrow as am at a BMC lecture in Manchester after work, so gonna be Wed/Thur I think, then got Fri off on Flexi.

Last weekend was a bit manic, hills in the pissing rain with Martin in the Langdales (Sticklebarn over the tops to Angle tarn in 3.5 hours), before running away home, via Forshaws’ for curry and then Sunday was an aborted Armistice Parade (wrongly published in the paper then couldn’t get to another one in time), then a meet with Alex and Gem from the new District Explorer Exec.  All fun, all good, all tiring.  Going to need some downtime in December I think.  The plan to go away for many days over the xmas break is going to end up being ‘a’ small trip, and the rest of it being sorting the house out.

And breathe ….
